    Hi,

I’m the assistant editor on a show and the editor made a request that I don’t know how to take care of. Coming into the office today I found a note on my desk that said, “There is little red arrows that show up when you make a cut, make those go away.” Personally, I’ve always found those useful, but he edits on Final Cut regularly and must have set some settings at home that make those go away and just wants the edit bay at the production office to mirror what he’s got going on at home. Does anyone know how to make those arrows go away?

    Make the time line active.

    Hit Command – Zero.

    Hit the timeline options tab.

    Un-check Show Through Edits.

Do this for all previously created sequences.

    Then…

Final Cut Pro > User Preferences

    Time line options tab.

    Un-check Show Through Edits.

This will make all subsequent sequences work the same way.
