Red and Blue Bleed
Posted by Dana Lavoie on October 4, 2007 at 9:20 pmi have a HVX-200 and when i shoot MINI DV the reds and blues bleed in hight contras situations and low lighting. I Don’t know if this is because of subsampling or the HVX?

October 5, 2007 at 3:03 pmYup that’s pretty normal. You’ll be hard pressed to find a camera in the prosumer world that won’t show antialiasing on high contrast, sharp edges and especially red. You might try adding a promist filter in front of the lens or turning down your edge detail a little. Also a chroma resampler such as Graeme Nattress’ G-Nicer can help a bit with the edges. Another good call is avoid high frequency patterns and bright red in your wardrobe choices.
