Does Boris RED work with CS4 Premiere Pro?
If it does, how do I get it to load into CS4 as a 3rd party program?

    Hello Enzo,

The hardware / software configuration that you have listed should work without generating this type of error. I’ll check with the folks in our QA lab to see if they have seen or heard of this happening before.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Debug error in Premiere CS4 when applying Boris FX – [….SrcVideoFrameFactory.cpp-346]
by Jamie Hancock on Dec 11, 2008 at 2:34:26 pm

    Hello.

I’ve just installed BorisFX 9.2 and am getting the debug error [….SrcVideoFrameFactory.cpp-346] followed by a ‘serious error’ crash. Just when I’d sorted my Asio sound error out – now this! Would anyone have an idea as to what this may be? I can’t find an answer by googling the debug code or even parts thereof. Is it just a compatibility issue, perhaps?

    Thanks.

    Jamie…

    Hi Enzo,

We have confirmed that there is indeed an issue with RED 4.3.1 when used with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and 4 on Vista. We will issue a patch to correct the problem as soon as we can. Meanwhile, if you have After Effects installed, you can use RED safely within that host on Vista. Or you can also use RED in it’s standalone mode of operation within the Vista environment and then export a quicktime or avi file, which you can then import into Premiere Pro.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi Peter
Please notice that also the newest Installers from Blue, FX and Graffiti generate the same error as Red. This programs also need a patch.
    Thanks and regards
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

We’re currently investigating the issue and as soon as the engineering team has arrived at a solution, we will make this available as a free patch for all of our UI products (BLUE/RED/FX/Graffiti).

I’ll post a message to this list as soon as we have resolved the issue and have the patch up on our site.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
