  • Red 4.1 = Red 4.03?

I had Red 4.03 installed. I applied the Red 4.1 update. I open the same Red executable and it says in Help/About, Red 4.03.

I now see a new Red 4.1 executable was installed in a new Red 4.1 directory. I click on the Release Notes from the Red 4.1 interface and I get Red 4.03 Release Notes.

I opened the root Red 4.1 PDF file release notes and it says Red 4.03.

    What is going on here?

I always thought that when you run an update, it simply updates the currently existing executable.

This plus the fact that I see no notes anywhwere what Red 4.1 fixes from 4.03 makes this look pretty slipshod.

    Am I missing somethere here?

I am using Red 4 on a Windows XP machine. I *think* that I should be installing this update. Should I not?

Any assistance here would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

My apologies, I just realized Red 4.1 is for Windows also.

The information I got was that the WIN and Power Mac 4.1 versions are supposedly for being able to open projects started on MAC Intel 4.1.

It sure would be nice to get some clarification here.

I upgraded to 4.1 and it fixed a known bug I had in 4.0.

So there are definitely some changes in this version.

btw: On the splash screen my version says 4.1.
