recreating tricky explosion

I would suggest taking a look at wondertouch particleIllusion 3. There are some fairly realistic water effects of the nature you just descibed. I’m sure you could get similar from trapcode, but not without some work.

hi aharon.

thanks a ton. i used particle illusion to get the blast effect that i wanted. I hope you would not mind answering a question for me.

the thing is (everyone likes it)

1) i need to put it behind a boat, since the origin of the blast is not looking good. how can i make it look better in front of the boat…?

2) I made a mask of the moving boat…how can i link the tracking points to the mask so that the masks also move along with the boat.then i can place the blast behind the boat….?

I am using AE 6.5

Unfortunately, you can’t. Masks cannlt have track point’s attached to them. you have to rotoscope..
