I have a client who wants me to recreate a movie poster that’s printable at 96 inches tall from a file that’s 18 inches tall at 72 ppi. This would involved pulling out text and recreating gradients.

Does anyone have any experience doing something like this?

That is going to suck, produce terrible results, and be very time consuming.

dont know if it would work for that size but I’ve done this in the past. try printing it at the 18 inches or smaller then scan it the highest dpi you can then print it again at oh…. 11×17 if it looks good scan it again at a high dpi again and then see if it takes you where you want to be?
