I worked in a 720p sequence for an offline edit and I created my titles using FCP7
    text tool at that resolution.

For the online which will be at 1080p, 2k, or perhaps higher, will I need to retype
my titles at that online resolution or can I use my current titles and FCP7 will
scale them without too much degradation.

If the titles are going to look bad in a higher res sequence then I’ll need to re do them.
They are basic white on black, no fancy font or effects.

FCP scales them, because no media is recreated when they are made.

    Hi Shane,
Is this the same for Pr Pro CC? I’m making titles in an SD sequence that I will want to deinterlace and uprez to HD. The titles seemed to look quite sharp when I did a Red Giant conversion on a test sequence. I’d rather finish editing and then process the sequence than worry about processing the rough cut first and creating HD titles.
    Thanks for your thoughts,
    Robert

Not sure…I haven’t needed to do that. I’ll have to test later. Or you can ask in the PPro forum.
