I am attempting to retrieve data from a mini DVD that has some “issues” . Who’s up for a challenge?
Some video footage was shot on a small Sony camcorder that records to a MiniDVD disc. It was never finalized so when it wouldn’t play it was given to a media department at my friends company. Now it won’t play AND it cant be finalized. As far as I can tell they burned an authored DVD menu onto it linked to a small corrupted clip. I got this to play on one of my DVD decks. The menu loaded eventually and the small clip played for 24 seconds then the deck locked up.
My challenge now is to find out if the original recorded footage is still on the disc and find a way to effectively extract that media so it can be saved.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful….

    HELP!!!!

I’d give Sony a call. Those little mini DVD recorders are a little like throwing your footage into a wishing well.

ISOBuster might be able to extract the mpeg (might be worth a shot).
