Recovered MXF Files A Mess
Hey Y’all,
I just got a drive recovered and the files are all over the place. The reason I had gotten it recovered was to restore a project that has no backup, but since the source MXF files are a mess none of my project files work.
First I tried manually faking the whole MXF file directory (CONTENTS->CLIP etc.) but FCP gave me a message along the lines of “Invalid File Directory,” so I started looking at other possible solutions.
I know there have been threads on this in the past – I originally tried to troubleshoot my issue by taking advice from this one:
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/8/1033640but I noticed there was never a real solution for this problem because the audio and video files were undistinguishable from one other. Unfortunately this is the case for me too!I’d love to use either MXF4mac/MXFi Info Light, or Raylight to get the source files into FCP but I’m not sure any of these will help since my audio and video files are in the same folders! Another possible issue is that some MXF files will be from other projects, there were multiple projects on the drive originally and when it was recovered all the files from all the jobs were thrown together.
Can someone point me in the right direction?!?!
Thank you kindly,
Nick
