recover P2 e series card?!
Posted by Jake Nabutovsky on January 24, 2011 at 5:15 amAnyone knows how to recover formated card (16gb) from HPX170p?! didnt write anything over it, i think, tried Disk worrior no good tried a couple of progs from panasonics support site no good either need that footage ASAP! There is gotto be a way…

January 25, 2011 at 12:09 amI think if you just deleted the files they are still there and just the pointer is gone. If you format then it’s all gone gone.

January 25, 2011 at 12:34 amWell, kinda. It depends on how you formatted. If you zeroed the disk using p2 Formatter, the yes, it’s gone. If just a quick format and didn’t reuse the card, the directories/forks are erased but the Media is still on the card, and could be hard to recover. Disk warrior isn’t enough. Try DriveSavers.

They are awesome, by the way. I have used them on other hard drives, but not p2. Make sure they can handle it. My guess is they can.

February 1, 2011 at 9:55 pmYou could also contact Panasonic Service in the NJ office. They may charge you but I have seen them pull back a formatted cards previous recording. Email off line and I will give you the contact.
