  Recover external drive with file salvage

  Hi guys, I accidentally hit erase on disk utility on the wrong drive. After I noticed I didn’t use the drive at all, I just use file salvage to recover the footage off the drive but all the quicktimes says not a movie file, I can’t open any of them. Does anyone has a better way to recover those files?
