Yes you can input composite video into the HVX and record onto the cards. You’ll be doing so in standard-def only, not high-def (RCA/composite video is inherently standard-def). You could choose DV, DVCPRO, or DVCPRO50. You have to be in MCR mode, not CAMERA mode. Turn off the thumbnails (press the audio dub/thumbnail button) and you should see the video image playing on the HVX’s LCD. Then just press the gray and red REC buttons on top of the cam to record that incoming video stream onto your cards.
