    Hi board,

Me and my small company have just purchased a lovely P2 (HVX) which I’m really chuffed with, it was a toss up between this and the Z1 and I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.

I only got it this week and have to save up for 2 8GB cards (I have just recently bought a Mac Book Pro 2.4Ghz and Final Cut Studio 2 so I’m a little bit skint) and was wondering how I record straight onto my laptop as I heard this was an option?

I hope you guys don’t mind sharing your knowledge as I’m sure I’ll be asking again soon!

    Thanks

    Tom

Set for 720p 60 or 1080i60 depending on preference, non controllable device in FCP, then capture now.

[Soupy Tom] “have to save up for 2 8GB cards”

It’s cheaper to buy 1 16gb card and the 32gb cards are suposed to be out in November. This kind of stuff typically gets cheaper and bigger as time marches on. My advice is to purchase the biggest that are available at the time. In the future you will be glad you did as you will have them a long time.

My 1st CF card for my still camera was $450.00 for a 96mb card. Today a 4Gb card is about $100.00. That’s about 40X the capacity for 25% of the cost. If P2 gets that cheap we won’t need blue ray dvd’s to watch HD movies on.
