    hello fellow grazers.

i have a FCP project with 12 tracks of audio in the timeline. I would like to record the spoken audio to channel 1 and all the music and ambient sound to channel 2 on DV tape.

how do i do this? i imagine i’ll need to organize my timeline to have all the spoken audio on the same tracks and all the rest on the other tracks. now is there a place in FCP where i can assign the tracks in my timeline to either track 1 or 2 on the tape i will be recording to?

    mucho thanks as always!!!

Just pan whatever you want to go to track 1 to the left and whatever you want on track 2 to the right. You can do this in the audio mixer which is found under the tools menu. You do not necessarily have to have your dialogue all on the same track but it would make it easier. Probably a good idea to read the section in the manual on audio mixing/output.
