Is there a way in Audition 1.0 to record the fader positions when doing a mix down so that you can have somewhat of an automated mix like you would in Premiere? I know you can do this with the higher end hardware mixers. Wondering if Audion can do this or if I have to bounce the track in order to “record” the volume levels for individual tracks. Thanks for any help.

    Thanks,

    Randal

    Randal,

Everything that you do to the track on the edit side will mixdown, this includes any EQ, volume, effects, and pans … WILLIE

Audition does not offer fader automation as such, but it offers an equally effective mechanism through envelopes in multitrack view. These can control volume, pan, and the parameters of some effects, including wet/dry mix. You won’t see anything move when you play back, but you’ll hear the effect of the envelopes, which as noted will be applied when you mix down to a stereo file.
