I shot a short video with a Sony EX 1 and a shotgun mic. I imported the video to premiere pro and have everything edited, however i cant figure out how to balance the recorded video’s sound to both speakers. I’m guessing the mic only recorded to one channel (the left side). If I use the Fill Right audio effect in premiere, the sound is completely muted as there is no audio in the right channel. The balance effect mutes it too. How do i mix the two channels so sound comes out of both speakers evenly?

    Hi Alec,

You actually want fill left. Or you can select all your clips prior to importing them to the timeline, and right click and change the channel mapping to mono.

oops. Yes, Fill left works. I feel so stupid now for asking such a simple question. Thanks so much.
