Hello to all, I have the DVX 100P, and I’m trying to record the timecode directly on the footage so I can see it when I’m editing it. Is there any way to do that? I tried playing around with the settings, but haven’t been lucky.

I’m trying to get around using a timecode illusion fx within Avid by recording timecode onto the picture, then lay it over top the project in Avid with the PIP effect, then crop around it.

There’s no way to get the timecode to overlay the footage. Any NLE should be able to show you the timecode of the clip, but the DVX can’t “burn in” the timecode.

Oh ok, thanks I thought there wasn’t a way to do that, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking something. I just found out that I’m not running my system to the requirements of Avid, so that why I’m not able to use the fx in Avid.

And Dave, this was just to take to post, I could always erase the video channel. My audio engineer I’m using only has the Wav files from my project, so I was just trying to get him video with the timecode on the footage.

    Thanks.
