    Hi everyone,

I need to videotape a performance with audio on one track and SMPTE on the other. The audio and SMPTE will come from a playback device, synced to the performance. Then, I need to export a Quicktime file for the producer to watch the performance. He needs to be able to see the SMPTE. I’m guessing he’s asking for a timecode window.

I have a JVC HM700, which has two XLR inputs. If I feed the SMPTE into one of those audio inputs, how do extract the SMPTE? If I could convert it into timecode, I could use the timecode filter in FCP to create the TC window.

    I’m using FCP 7.

Anyway, I’ve never had to do this before, so I’m hoping someone can lend a hand.

    Thanks!
