  • Record / pause PROBLEM!

Some how my Pause (REC) button is not working, I remember it always
    worked.

I use to record, then press rec again to pause and rec again to continue
recording. This would mean that the files would continue in one folder. and when I press play it would play it as one go.

All of a sudden when I click rec to pause and continue, it registers the next recording as a separate file.

I did update some weeks ago but cant remember if it started right after that, I just noticed it yesterday.

Any one with the same problem?

As in it would play it continuously on the camera in an NLE it would come up as one clip with markers?

Thank you, but I dont really understand your response. Sory about that.

I mean that I thought when u film and click rec again, it pauses, so if
you click again it will continue recording. This so afterwards you get everything in one file. If you press stop and the rec again you have the dngs in different files.

My problem is that I can not seem to pause (using the rec) it does pause but still creates a new file when i click rec to contimue.

I’m not sure if I fully understand what it is that you are trying to do.

If I understand you correctly, you’re trying to record a single clip though you want to use a Pause/Rec button to have multiple “takes” (for lack of a better word), within a single “clip”?

Are you recording raw or ProRes?

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it when a Pause/Rec saves it as one clip. The Pause/Rec button by my understanding is just terminology but it is a synonym for a Start/Stop button which is how it’s labeled on many other cameras, notably Sony cameras.

Can you please elaborate on why you need this type of workflow? Maybe there’s another type of workaround that can be figured out.
