record onto camara thru firewire
Working in final cut on laptop, my deck broke, must output tomorrow, so I thought I’d try to record to tape using my camera ( just 20 minutes.) Does the camera not let you do this? I can’t get it to work. My brain is fried from stress.

The camera does support recording from firewire input. I’m not sure of the settings needed in FCP, but the camera does need to be in tape mode and have a tape inserted.
Also, just a side note, the DVX100A will accept analog video in and pass it through to the firewire port for capturing (no need to go to tape when transferring old home video’s).
