Hey Guys… I was wondering if there was a way with adobe premier or AE to somehow record a video of your computer screen and all the actions you perform on the computer screen? I am looking for a way to do this for a quick training tutorial to put on my website. Macromedia Captivate is the only software that I’ve found that can do this… but at 500 bucks it’s way out of the question! Preferably I would like it to be in Flash or wmv formats? Any ideas? Thanks!

    Camtasia is what I use.

agree with Steven — Camtasia is quite nice and there’s a free trial which has no “X” or logo superimposed, unlike at least one other.

If you want to save $299, there is another way to do it, maybe. I have recorded my PC screens with all clicks by using my laptop, which has a S Video jack. I just attached my camcorder to the laptop’s S Video jack, and recorded.

    Camtasia works better though.

Microsoft Windows Media Encoder does capture movies playing on your desktop. It produces clips in the WMV format.

It is available as a free download on the MS site.

Thanks. When you say it captures movies — does it do full-screen captures, including mouse moves etc.?
