    Hey Everyone,

I’ve got a simple set up to plug in my acoustic/electric guitar to my computer. I’m using the m-audio fast track usb interface that has my guitar plugged in and I’d like to be able to record the audio right into QuickTime while also recording video. No problems getting QuickTime to pull the audio from the Fast Track, however it will only record a stereo track. Since my signal coming out of the Fast Track is mono, I’m left with audio only in my left speaker. In other programs (Soundtrack Pro, Garage Band) I can set the input (for example, “input 1, mono” or “inputs 1 & 2 stereo”). Does anyone know a way I can set QuickTime to record a mono audio track? Or is it also possible to record video in either Garage Band or Soundtrack Pro? From what I can tell, it’s not.

    Thanks,
    Sofi

    Hi Sofi,

Try using a mono to stereo adapter on the input to your computer. QT should then record the same thing on both channels…
