record microphone through camera to computer?
Is there an analogue to digital option with Soundtrack pro and my sony HDV 1080i
So I can hook up my dynamic mic to the camera either the XLR or the 1/8 ” input, put the camera in record mode and get the digital signal to go into my MacBook pro with Soundtrack?

Hi jill,
With FC you can try plugging your camera through FW and set “Uncontrollable device” in the Capture Device setting.
You can try as well with the QT Audio Recorder.
