Record Head on DVX100
We have a DVX100 (one of the originals – not the A or B), and after many years of great service, it looks like the record head is finally going. Does anyone know if this is even worth getting repaired, and where I might do it?

If you still have your manual there’s a 1800 number to call for repair. I guess whether it’s worth it depends on two factors- the cost which could be anywhere from $100-500 and how often you use it.

Thanks Noah. I guess since we now have a 200A, I’d like to sell the 100. So I’ll check the cost of that and sell it with our without the repaired record head. Maybe someone needs something to play DV tapes. Or to hold up papers on their desk…

You might be able to sell to a repair shop for spare parts. It’s worth getting an estimate- you might be looking at a $200 repair that will enable you to sell the camera for $900 instead of $100.
