Record HDV out to M35U deck?
I am trying to export some HDV material back to the Sony M35U deck. (there seems to be no user manual online and I don’t have access to my manual right now)
The problem I am having is that FCP’s HDV playback device options are greyed out, and I cannot seem to get the deck’s record mode out of DVcam. (it too is greyed out)
Any suggestions for going back to HDV? (other than to not deal with the format at all? ) I eventually would also like to output DVCpro HD timelines to the HDV deck. I suppose I will have to re render those timelines in HDV to be able to do that, which will kill the quality.

And by the way, that’s not an export. That’s a print to tape or record to tape.
Also, do you have a DVCAM tape in the machine? Can’t record HDV to that format tape that I know of, needs to be a DV/HDV tape.

pop the tape out, switch the deck to HDV mode using the menu, put the tape back in.
