I’m following a motion tutorial and it just doesn’t seem to work properly, it’s obviously user error but I can’t work it out and I’ve tried like ten times already.

    My workflow:

Open up exercise file map and mini car > select mini layer > turn on record > move car slightly to get red triangle > position play head at 2 seconds > move car to Texas >

The problem comes when I try and set another keyframe at 4 seconds and move the car to California, instead of getting another red line pointing away from Texas, the red line just moves and I simply move the first keyframe to 4 seconds.

I’ve experimented with turning record on and off at varying points this sort of works but I don’t really feel in control

What am I doing wrong please?

PS I’m about to watch the manual keyframe tutorial which I’m sure sorts this problem, but I’d like to know what I’m doing wrong for this one.

    many thanks

When you drag the car make sure you don’t drag from the little X in the center – click anywhere inside to bounding box except on the center (which selects the keyframe of the motion path).
