    Hi,

I recently completed an assistant edit job, where the director had logged all of her mini DV tapes in FCP 4 and I digitzed them using my FCP 5 system with a camera attached via firewire. When she brought the external drive back to her house, she says she cant reconenct the media.

I think you can just go into each logging bin, right + click and choose reconnect media or relink files, locate the files that are marked with the red slash (as offline) and reconnect all files in relative path…am I wrong? It is the same project with all the same in and out points, just one version behind. Reconnecting the media should work right? Is there a different process for FCP 4?

What would be the easiest thing for her to do, as she is not too technically savvy.

Any advice would help, but I just basically want to know if she opens her project in FCP 4 that she will be able to reconnect what I captured using FCP 5.

    Thanks for your help

    ~Rebecca
