Hello. I am having a problem reconnecting media.

I have revisited an old project because the client has requested a new version. I have moved all the media files to a new hard drive. Now the problem is that they all went offline and although I know where they are and am telling FCP to reconnect, The video files reconnect fine, but the audio files are a little unusual….they still remain white in the timeline even though the clip in the bin becomes online. Even if I click on the clip in the timeline and tell it where the media is. I get no error or warning, it finds the file and when I click connect, the clip in the timeline remains white. I really do not want to have to recut in every audio clip. Is there something I am missing here?

I have searched the forums for an answer and although I have found similar reconnecting issues none match my problem exactly.

Thank you very much for reading this, appreciate some help.

    Thanks

    Regards

Firstly, it is better to use media manager to move a project to another drive so there is no need to reconnect. I know it isn’t the best software in the world, but it sure beats manually reconnecting media.

With your audio, was it double system sound or is the audio offline part of the Quicktime of your original capture?

Hi, thank you for your responce… yes, will take media manager much more seriously in the future… My Audio files are not associated with the video. They are sounds such as music, sound effects and soundtrack pro files (cleaned up sound).

    Thanks
