here it goes: I initially started working on a 500gb hard drive. Captured everything there, logged everything, super organized. Then I needed to move the whole project onto a 1tb drive. I transfered everything and try to re-link things, but is not working. I made sure that I am selecting the right drive on the settings. I haven’t changed the name of the files or anything like that, just literally copied an image of the drive. but what I found curious, is that the files, look like this:

    shop-av
    shop-av-1
    shop-av-2
    shop-av-3
    shop-av-4
    shop-av-5
    shop-av-6

now; on the 500gb drive, if i wanna preview the quicktime file on the preview, I have to click on shop-av . and in the 1000tb drive, if i try to preview this clip, it looks as if is trying to preview audio. any help will be greatly appreciated! 1000 thanks

    Jose.

how is your new drive formated. do you have the -av-1 and so on the orginal drive? seems like they got segmented, could happen if the drive is formatted as a PC drive.

once your new drive is formated for the mac use media manager to make a copy of the project to the new drive.

Exactly!!! Media Manager uses FCP’s database to track the media and keeps the media connected. This is what computers do best.
