    Hi there,
I’ve had some issues with an XML import and it has failed to reconnect all the files (to the video or audio files)

When I select them all and try to reconnect them it confuses the filenames, for example a file listed in my FCP browser as “Brick.MOV” will be searched as simply “Brick” and won’t connect to the file “Brick.MOV” on my harddrive…other exaples include “/” and “.” being removed from the file name ONLY while in the window open for reconnecting…and sometimes these characters are in the middle of the file (for example a file would be “john w/dog” would come up in the reconnect as “john wdog”)

is there some sort of setting I have to change to get it to search with the whole file name?

I’ve had problems with this as well, especially with projects in which I tried to trim excess media. The thing I noticed is your use of a forward slash / which is a character that FCP might not like. I would avoid any non alpha or numeric characters except perhaps for underscore _ and dash -.
