Reconnecting linked music
I have a storyline with music added from my itunes library (on a NAS).
I have since moved my itune library to a firewire external drive.
Expectedly, the music showed up as red (disconnected).Is there a way to fix the links? I have the music cut and aligned to my storyline and would like to avoid redoing that again.
The music was “imported” as an alias sitting in “Original Media” folder.
I tried fixing the alias but OSX returned an error (alias could not be changed).

Fixed it by copying over the original file over the alias.

I ran into this same problem with music. Thankfully a music track is small and the workaround isn’t too inconvenient.
The upgrade to FCP X needs to include a manual override to the automatic ‘reconnect media’/’modify references’ situation we current have.
