  • Reconnecting effects across all clips?

Alright… I don’t even know what to call what I’m trying to do so please bear with me.
I’m trying to do some level correction for my brothers video he put together. He edited a wedding video and completely cut up all the clips. Problem is every clip from one camera needs level/color correction. Do I have to do the effects for each clip individually? Or is there a way to fix it on the master clip inside the bin and then apply those effects to each clip in the timeline? Sort of like reconnecting it to the mater. Obviously I know I could just fix one clip and then copy and paste the effects in the rest of the clips… but I’m hoping I can knock this down in as few of steps as possible.

You could effect the original master clip with the changes you want to make, then export that… then make that original master clip offline, and reconnect your media to the new clip you made. That would update everything (as long as you don’t effect the clip duration).

I guess that would work… I was just hoping for an easier solution. After looking all day i’m thinking there isn’t one.

Correct one clip in the timeline. Copy that clip. Select all the shots from that camera in the timeline. Paste attributes> filters.

    Done.

Listen to the Tasmanian Devil, he’s right.

And, you should check out the Find All command for this (see the manual in Help), it makes selecting all similar shots every easy , at least it does if there’s any logging info that you can use to search for with the Find command.

[David Roth Weiss] “Listen to the Tasmanian Devil, he’s right.”

Watch out David. I might cut and paste that quote ad nauseum.\
