Hi – I’ve searched through a few posts regarding the problem I have but suspect something deeper is going on.

Recently my onboard audio went down and I have installed an SB Live Card I have. Previously the sound was ok, now it’s not. I’ve got to where I can reconfigure Audio – where it says Microsoft Sound Mapper but on the pulldown I get no other alternatives even though on other apps’ my sound is fine. I guess it’s the linkup between M$ and Sony re the third party sound drivers.
Can anyone tell me what to do regarding reconfiguring Vegas to work please?

    TIA – Steve

    We have a development.

After installing the Creative Audigy Card could I hell get it to work… I uninstalled the card. Now my OB audio works but its still not allowing Microsoft apps to work Mediaplayer etc stating no driver etc. Vegas is still refusing to give me audio… any help pleeeaaase, I’m nursing a throbbing headache now and no light is showing despite me motoring down the tunnel!!

    TIA – Steve

    SOLVED!!!!!!

Somehow my windows preferences had been altered… possibly a virus???

Anyhow… this is how I solved it –

Go to “Start”-\”control Panal”-\”Administrative Tools”-\”Component Services”. This will pull up a seperate window, on the left click “services (local)” from the tree. Go down to the “windows audio” service. If the service is on “disabled” or “manual”; right click and select “properties” under “startup type” change to “automatic”- click apply. click “start”. Reboot!!

Many thanks for the lack of responses… all of my audios’ are now intact and working perfectly!!!
