  • Recompressing to a different frame rate…..

Posted by Paul Turlick on February 5, 2010 at 2:02 pm

    Hello-

I have an existing project which is being cut in DVCPro HD 1080i60. I now have some annoying XDCAM footage to mix in that was shot at 23.98. I’ve imported the footage and now am trying to recompress the footage via Media Manager to the DVCPro codec. When I attempt to do this I get a prompt saying that the frame rates are different and the new clips will retain the original clips frame rate.

    How can I do this….or can’t I????

    Thanks-
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
To change the time-base you should use Compressor although you should try first MPGStreamclip.

    [Dave LaRonde] “and that’s a big if)…
and the XDCam footage is at 1080, which means it was shot at 24 over 60”

At least the EX records real p23’98, not in i60.
