The Playstation will only play Blu-ray discs created by “Hollywood”. If you burn your own, it thinks it’s a data disc. You need to navigate to the folder that has the videos and select them to watch them. So it will play them, but not with menus. I would get a “real” Blu-ray player instead of using s PS3.

[Peter Roos] “I have HD video shot on a Canon 5D, 1920 x 1080. It looks quite beautiful and razorsharp in Vegas (it is also huge, 10 GB). But then when I send it to Architect, it is flattened and all the high definition resolution is gone. I tried a couple of different settings, from the standard to exporting just the video separately with the highest resolution available, but the results are unconvincing. I noticed, by the way, that the total file size is down to approximately 300 MB. Surely there must be something wrong, as a DVD can hold 4.7 GB of data? Why compress it so much?”

If you compress a 10Gb video file to 300 Mb, that is the cause of the loss of quality.

If you want 1080p HD, you don’t burn to DVD, you burn to bluRay.

The reason that your video is compressed to only 300 Mb when the disc can hold 4.7 Gb of data is that the DVD player can only handle a certain bit rate so your file size is compressed to a size that will support a bit rate that is supported by your DVD player.
