So we have finally finished editing amd mixing a feature. We’re at the stage of making our outputs. The movie was shot and edited in HDV60i and we want to put the entire thing onto a D5 which will then be our master, from which we can make PAL and NTSC Digibetas… etc.

So here’s the rub. Our system uses those obnoxious SATA drives and the system that we’ll be using to lay to D5 doesn’t have the SATA card. So we’re going to export our sequence (it’s about 88 minutes) as a handful of quicktimes (broken up by reel) and then put them back together in the system with the D5.

My question is, which would be the best way to export this? Should we export HDV, DVCPro HD? or some higher quality codec? Any other advice on this process?

    Thanks,
    mb
