    Hi Guys,

I’ve created a text on graphic animation in AE. When I import the graphic into Avid Xpress Pro the text seems a bit soft. I’m importing at 1:1 and my AE export settings are Animation, 29.97 frames/sec. Does anyone know if there any export settings in AE that Avid Xpress Pro likes?

    Thanks in advance.

Make sure your using the “best” setting for the Animation codec. Export using the field renderer set to lower field first (I’m in NTSC land). If you are exporting an alpha, make sure you are exporting straight alpha and not pre-multiplied.
On import to Avid make sure that your import settings are set to 601 non-square (if that’s what your comp was), RGB, Inverse Alpha and lower field first…then import.

Like Dave said – if you’re using Avid DV, it’s not going to get better. Only working with 1:1 compression in XPress is going to solve your issues, but then you’ll have to re-capture all footage.

    Thanks guys.

I’m actually importing the graphics at 1:1 but it still doesn’t make much of a difference. I’ll play around with my export settings and see what happens.

    Thanks again.
