First, Rule of thumb is to not use the FCP viewer on an LCD for color correction. Second, I’ve had decent luck with the Dells. The ACD’s are really nice and in my opinion as much time as you are going to be spending with it $200 is not even worth putting in the equation.

I’m keenly aware of the dangers of using any computer screen to color correct. However, everything I’m working on these days is for internet (Flash), so such monitors are actually just fine. Were these for TV broadcast, that would require a true RGB monitor, but they are not. Actually, I’ve done pretty well for the few times the results needed to be seen on TVs via DVD with my old Dell CRT. However, it won’t work with the MacBook very well, and time for a flat screen.

I actually think that some of the Dell monitors are better than the Apple monitors. Dell has been updating their monitors quite regularly to reflect better technologies. Apple hasn’t updated their monitors for quite sometime.

And if ever there was a time to suggest “Do a Search!”, this is it. It’s a very common question on this forum, and you’ll find lots of already typed replies.
