You really should get a Monitor with a “blue check” to set to color bars. You might be able to do it with the proper Rosco or Wratten Blue filter although I don’t know the exact filter number off hand.

Even if you’re only doing corporate video the Exec might not be too pleased when his corporate logo isn’t the right color on the $5000 HDTV in the conference room.

This MIGHT work. It’s only 10″ but it includes blue gun.

This is 7″ and includes blue gun and it’s LCD.

BTW if you find another method that works keep us informed. In the world of 3 chip 1/3″ HDV and DVCProHD (HVX200) cameras, the color correction is the gotcha in the “affordable” HD work flow>

Craig’s right. We had an HD panasonic projector in a suite that I do some work in and we used the wratten 47B dark blue filter to essentially give us the blue only. WE ran bars through the projector and it worked pretty well for when we got onsite and ran it through the pro projectors. I was very pleased at the quality of color from our ‘cheap’ projector to the pro ones.

Don’t discard the old manual and analog methods, Toke 😉

    Sometimes it’s easier than software.

Thanks both, but we are looking something a bit more accurate for the whole color space.
I’ll ask around and if I find something interesting, I’ll let you know.

Final Touch is supposed to have accurate scopes, but I don’t know how real time they are in regards to being fed a video signal.

You can’t calibrate & profile display with just software scope.
You need to have a meter that reads the output (like EyeOne).
