    Whoa. You are literally out of RAM. Go to crucial.com and load up on as much RAm as you can afford. 4GB seems to be a good number for FCP machines. They have a product map that is very easy to follow that will tell you what kind of RAM to put after you tell them what kind of machine you have. It’s very simple.

    For the record Apple recommends at least 2 GB, but if I were you I’d shoot for 4.

    Non-ECC will be fine.

    I also suggest Crucial. Using their system will get you to the exact right type of RAM for your machine.

    Be sure to follow the instructions in the Powermac manual about how to install it. Not only does it have to be installed in matching pairs, it matters WHICH slots get filled first and which ones get left empty.
