Recapturing
We are attempting to recapture and upres from Betacam to finish a project, but are getting a weird split screen effect. Generally, there is a thin strip of video running horizontally across the top of the screen, almost like a synch bar. Sometimes it is much more pronounced, and occasionally, it will split the screen vertically, which is a dramatic, but not desired effect. I figured it was probably the Betacam machine, so I got another one in and same thing. This isn’t an HD project. It happens both with Media 100i lossless codec and Uncompressed 8bit. It feels like a reference video issue, but no amount of tinkering with reference seems to make a difference. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for any help.

Genlock connected?

Thanks David. Yes, Genlock is connected and we’ve tried various configurations. The problem is intermittent and unpredictable, but we’ve found a workaround. Thanks for the response.
