Needed to redigitize some OfflineRT subclips at full rez, but didn’t want to offline the master clips (keep ’em around for reference). I’ve done this in the past via the MediaMangler multistep nonsense, but found a faster method searching the Cow this AM:

    1) take the OfflineRT subclips & drop ’em in a new bin. Append the new format on each clip name [eg; clipname_8bit, clipname_DV, etc]. Don’t know if this step’s necessary (from a filename-management angle), but I like being able to instantly differentiate the clips’ rez.
    2) export a batch list
    2) import it [same bin or different, doesn’t matter]
    3) when they’re imported, they’re offline, limited to subclip duration & ready to recapture

Now if only Apple would figure an EASY way to redigz clips of different resolutions **within** a timeline!

Heh. I am working on a project where, for the first time ever, I have to utilize offlineRT low-rez clips during the rough edit and then redigitize for the fine cut. So I am just now starting to browse backwards through the Cow for clips just like yours, Bob. Thanks, man!

Master clips, independent clips, subclips. After three-plus years of editing everything at full rez, I never cared about them very much. Now, suddenly, understanding and loving their relationships is my mission in life.
