I have had the editors nightmare- 5 hours of footage gone. I now must recapture all of it and reconnect it to my multiclip sequence. How does one do that? (I tired the manuel and it didn’t help)

    Thanks for your time.

Highlight the source clips in the Browser and then go FILE>BATCH CAPTURE.

The original clips or the MULTI Clips? Has to be the original clips.

What happens when you try? Any error?

Are people like yourselves reporting this to Apple?
I haven’t upgraded to FCP6 yet (in the middle of a project on FCP 5.1.4)
but it’s a multicam project like many I do. I hope Apple gets enough
info from you guys to fix this.

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Try this:

    Make your sequence clips independent.

Create a new project (lets call it X) and move that sequence into it. Close the original project (to avoid confusion).

Use Media Manager to create yet another new project (lets call it Y)-

    In Media Manager choose:

    create off-line

include master clips outside selection (no)
delete unused media from duplicated clips (yes)
use handles (optional – I always use 2:00 handles)
    include affiliate clips (no)
    include non-active multi-clip angles (no)

When you are done close “project X” to avoid confusion.

“Project Y” will have a timeline that has only the media used with no reference to multi-clips.

This whole process can also be done by using “copy” the media instead of “create off-line.”

    Herb,

In theory, that would work. The problem seems to be with projects that were started in 5.xx and then finished in 6.x. We’ve tried all kinds of combinations like your suggestions above to no avail.

Yes, we’ve reported this to Apple.
