    Hi All…

    CS3:

We’re just wrapping a project with a mix of soure materia.

Some file based (which is working fine)

    some tape based.

Now I want to go back and recapture just the tape based source at online resolution, but only frames (plus handles) used in the sequence.

    I’ve created a duplicate project,

eliminated all but the sources I wanted from the project panel leaving only the sources I need to batch on the timeline.

Now I have passed this reduced project thru Project Manager/trimmer, with “make offline” enabled.

But I can’t seem to generate new clips representing only what is used on the timeline for recapture.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hi, Alex,

This is a guess (because I’ve never tried it), but I’m thinking Premiere might have a problem trimming HDV clips (due to the long GOP file structure). Are you recapturing HDV?

    Hi Eric…

The issue is that original source was captured as full continuous reels.

Now I want to capture just the frames used on the timeline.

But I can’t seem to get PPro to actually make the new clip entries via trimmer for the recap.

Seems like the above method should do it, but I just end up with a copy of the project with the same remaining master clips in it.
