The Rebel T3i is brand new and I”m considering going the DSLR video route. Since this model is so new has anyone found any info regarding the heat issues experienced by the Sony A55, T2i and the 5D Mark II and whether or not this exists with the new T3i? If I’m not mistaken, the 7D does not have heat issues, but I just got a new Mac, not ready for the 7D cost.

Depends what you mean. Most of the Canon’s just stop shooting (momentarily) after 12 continuous minutes. Not really a heat issue but a design one.

You are backwards on the info. The 7D did have overheating issues, not the 5D MII. This has been fixed with the firmware upgrade, so it isn’t an issue. I’ve shot all day with the 7D with no issues just last weekend.

I don’t know about the T3i. I would purchase the 60D. It’s probably about the same price as the T3. It has the 7D guts with a plastic body.

I agree that the 7d does not overheat, but my T2i used to routinely.
