Realvia MatchMover makes a very sophisticated 3D tracking software, what you do (in a very simplified sense) is load your sequence, run the automatic tracker and then export the data.

My question is does anyone know if AF 6.5 or 7.0 can import that data.

    Thanks in advance.

I’ve never used matchmover but i do know that it can export 3d camera data to maya, which i have heard you can then import to AE. I do know that matchmover pro can export 3d track data to a text file. It wouldn’t be too hard to write an AE script to parse this file and then apply the data to an AE camera. Maybe someone else has a better answer. I checked realviz’s site here:
    https://www.realviz.com/products/mpro/tech_features.php
and it does not look like it can export directly to AE.

When I used Icarus, I would indeed export as a Maya .ma file. Then in Maya I would clean up the hundreds of nulls down to the few I need in AE. Then I gave them the naming convention AE needs to see the nulls (null_NAMEHERE). Then in AE I imported that modified .ma from MAYA. Then just linked my AE 3D layers to the nulls so the AE objects are exactly in space where they should be.

Most 3D trackers should have a direct AE output though. I believe Boujou does.
