August 8, 2005 at 7:00 amHi Arne,
Technically this should be possible but I’m not aware of any software which performs this function at this time. I haven’t had a chance to play with Motion 2.0 much but it wouldn’t surprise me if it could help with this. Other readers of this forum might have some more concrete ideas for you.

thanks for your answer.
motion 2.0 is not the tool for keying, i use it for realtime animation and that works fine, but no realtime keying.
hopefully one of the other users found a software that suits.
thanks anyway.arne.

August 8, 2005 at 4:03 pmI was recently looking at a titling software called Titlebox from https://www.playbox.tv. It works very nicely with the Extreme board I have here, rendering directly to component out. What we now have to figure is how we can get a key out and fill out separately. This will allow us to replace our ancient Chyron box. Any ideas?

August 9, 2005 at 7:57 amHi Arka,
Thanks for mentioning Titlebox and I just received the following information from Playbox.
TitleBox will do the job to key animations and graphics over incoming live video. Unfortunately our products are working only on PC and there are no MAC versions. If you already have a DeckLink installed in a PC, you can download the TitleBox Demo from our web site (http://www.playbox.tv).

i spent some time on my computer and tried the following:
i put a camera signal via YUV into the decklink card.
i kept the decklink livekey software open while enabling the “internal key”,
manual key set to 255.
i switched to final cut pro and created text. it was possible to key the text over the camera signal, but the camerapicture lost a lot of brightness, so i guess, i still got problems with the alpha channel.
any ideas ?
we tried the same setup with a pc with adobe premiere and it worked very well.arne.

to utilize Fill and Key output you need to use Decklink Pro. It is capable to output Fill and Key signals through its two SDI outputs.
If you have any additional questions I will be more than happy to answer at support@playbox.tv.
