    G5 Dual 2.7, FCP 5. 4.5gb RAM

Really slow performance when scrubbing in the viewer. Audio settings in sequence set to 48khz, clip is 48khz, clip is Raw DV from Firestore.

    Sequence: 720×480 NTSC DV (3:2), PAR CCIR 601/DV (720×480), Field Dominance Lower (even), 29.97 fps, Compressor DV/DVCPRO – NTSC, Audio 48khz, 16-bit.

Safe RT / Unlimited RT has no effect. Trashed preferences – no effect.

Any ideas why scrubbing would be so slow?

I’ve narrowed it down to an audio issue. When I drag the clip into the sequence and scrub, it lags hard. If I mute the audio, it scrubs fast. I’ve tried changing the sequence setting to 44.1, 48khz, etc. doesn’t help.

Did you find a solution to this?

I have exactly the same problem, working with DV files, which – oddly – scrub fine when i freshly import them. But then later on scrub terribly slow, unless uadio scrubbing is turned off. So yes, the video scrubs fine, but the audio not. Did you work out why? So weird…
