if you haven’t tried it already, you might try turning off opengl… it can seemingly add to a general quirkiness in previews, plus in 6.5 opengl doesn’t support many key features that you would like to have. most people ditch opengl in favor of adaptive resolution. i’ve seen significant slow downs with opengl with certain effects (auto levels, being one).

however, that may not be the problem… check your time controls panel, make sure the ram preview options are set to the correct frame rate (auto should keep play back at your comp’s frame rate). also make sure that it is not set to skip farmes.

also, check your comp settings and make sure that it is a the frame rate that you want to work at.

one other thing, are you using spacebar to render the preview or the zero on the #s keypad?

use the zero on the #s keypad, it will create a ram preview… space bar will render the preview on to your disk, and if your disk can’t handle the data rate of the preview then it will play slowly or jerky.

Sorry about the delayed response. Heh, they’ve been pouring it on all of a sudden here. But hey, yeah, I was using spacebar and zero RULES!!! I’m sure that is a totally basic thing.

    Thanks so much!!
