Hi So I have been an editor for 6 years on Final Cut Pro.
Currently im working in a H264 codec timeline with the footage all matched.
I have 3 layers of video from a 3 cam shoot.
Every time I make a cut I have to Render.

Why would it be doing this?
Surely if it’s the same codec I wouldn’t have to render?
Im embarrassed I dont know the reason to this.

There is a slight chance that he H264 files aren’t exactly the same as they were encoded by different people- would this be the problem?
    Any clues please?

    Thankyou

Thanks Dave- I originally avoided Pro Res due to file size.
I shall start my night all over again.
    Many thanks for your help.

    Hi Lincoln,
use ProRes LT or even ProRes Proxy for your edit. They both use small file sizes but look great.
    thanks
